In a monumental achievement for the country, Pakistan has won its first-ever Gold Medal at the prestigious International Biology Olympiad (IBO) — a proud moment that marks a new era for the nation’s academic and scientific landscape.

Abdul Raffay Paracha, a brilliant student from Siddique Public School, made history by securing the Gold at the 35th IBO, held in the Philippines from July 20 to 27, 2025. His win is the first Gold medal Pakistan has ever received in the International Science Olympiad competitions.

This historic accomplishment is part of the Pakistan Gold Medal International Science Olympiad campaign, led by the STEM Careers Programme, a collaborative initiative of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS).
