Pakistan to Welcome Groundbreaking Electric SUV with 1150 KM Range Here What You Need to Know

Pakistan’s auto industry is gearing up for a major breakthrough with the arrival of a next-generation electric SUV that promises a staggering range of over 1,100 kilometers a development that could reshape the country’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape.

The upcoming Forthing Friday REEV, to be introduced by Capital Smart Motors, claims an impressive total driving range of 1,150 kilometers, potentially making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles ever launched in the country.

Pure EV + Range Extender: The Best of Both Worlds

While the headline figure is eye-catching, the SUV achieves this range through a hybrid approach. The vehicle offers 600 kilometers of electric-only range, powered by its battery pack.

An additional 550 kilometers is provided by a range-extending system, which includes a small internal combustion engine used solely as a generator to recharge the battery when it runs low.

This type of vehicle, known as a Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV), is designed to eliminate “range anxiety” while maintaining the core benefits of electric mobility.

Unlike traditional hybrid vehicles, REEVs don’t directly drive the wheels using the combustion engine; instead, they use it to support longer journeys when charging options are limited.

About the Brand: Backed by Dongfeng

The Forthing brand is part of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, a subsidiary of China’s Dongfeng Motor Group, one of the largest and most respected automotive manufacturers in the region.

The Friday REEV is positioned as a practical yet advanced EV option for consumers looking for long-distance capability without sacrificing sustainability.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

According to sources, the Forthing Friday REEV is expected to officially launch in Pakistan by mid-month, with more specifications and features likely to be revealed in the coming days.

The SUV is anticipated to attract significant interest from both EV enthusiasts and everyday drivers seeking a fuel-efficient and reliable alternative to petrol-powered vehicles.

If launched at a competitive price point, this could be a game-changing moment for the Pakistani EV market, potentially accelerating the transition to greener transportation options across the country.

Stay tuned as more details emerge on what could become one of Pakistan’s most talked-about electric vehicle debuts.
