Monsoon Mayhem: Pakistan Rainy Season Could Extend Till End of September Say Experts

Pakistan’s monsoon season could last longer than usual this year, with meteorologists warning that the rainfall may continue until the end of September a potential shift in seasonal patterns driven by climate change.

Experts say that climate disruption is altering traditional monsoon behavior across the region. In 2025, the southern parts of Pakistan are expected to receive less rainfall during the initial phases, with most monsoon activity currently concentrated in the northern and upper regions of the country.

However, weather models suggest a notable shift in the monsoon system starting from August 10, which could bring more active rainfall patterns to the southern areas in the second half of the month.

According to meteorologists, southern Pakistan typically sees the monsoon retreat around September 15, but this year, the season could persist through to the end of September, extending the rainfall duration by up to two weeks.

This potential extension of the monsoon season is being closely monitored, as prolonged rain spells can lead to increased flood risks, especially in urban centers and vulnerable agricultural zones.

Citizens and authorities are advised to stay alert and updated through official weather advisories.
