ISLAMABAD, August 2025 — The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that the fee for obtaining a Family Registration Certificate (FRC) will remain unchanged at Rs1,000, offering relief to citizens seeking essential documentation for official purposes.
The FRC is a key document that outlines the complete structure of a family as recorded in NADRA’s national database. It serves as a vital proof of familial relationships and is frequently required for various legal, administrative, and immigration-related processes.
What Is the Family Registration Certificate?
The Family Registration Certificate is available in three specific categories:
-
By Birth: Includes all family members, such as parents and siblings.
-
By Marriage: Lists a person’s spouse and children.
-
By Adoption: Shows the guardian and adopted individual’s details.
Each type of certificate helps citizens establish verifiable links to their family members for both domestic and international purposes.
It’s important to note that any individual who does not possess a valid 13-digit NADRA-issued ID number will not be included in the FRC.
How to Apply for an FRC
NADRA offers flexible options for obtaining the certificate:
-
In Pakistan: Applications can be submitted in person at any NADRA Registration Centre (NRC).
-
Online: Citizens can apply via the Pak-Identity website, making the process more accessible and convenient.
-
Overseas Pakistanis: Those residing abroad can visit their nearest Pakistani mission to apply for the document.
The fixed fee of Rs1,000, which remains consistent as of August 2025, applies across all application methods.
With no increase in charges, the continuity in pricing aims to ensure that essential documentation remains accessible for all Pakistanis, both at home and abroad.
